Old stuff - I drew this for my friend's band in Taiwan called Triple Six.. I've posted a group picture before but thought each character was unique in itself so I'm posting it up. All the drawings are based off photographs my friend sent me. I tried to be open with my style and hopefully tread off the anime style that I'm so used to... I really need to stop drawing anime.. ugh...

Anime has its ups and downs. I think some artists run into trouble with it by handling it as its own independent approach to drawing. They attach it with its own "rules" and "foundations," instead of seeing it for what it really is, which is simply another approach to caricaturing life. At some point you gotta be inspired by something that's real, otherwise your work will just start feeling more and more artificial as the years wear on.

Anyway, great piece here! I love how you handled this guy's body shape. The other band members look good too. Keep up the good work!
